HAVE A LAUGHING HEART
I use to hate Mondays. They were dreaded all day Sunday, and come Monday morning I would zombie in and spend the day waiting for it to be over. Rinse and repeat from Tuesday on. It was an awful way to live. I was always waiting for the next weekend, holiday or vacation. For the majority of my time, I wasn't present or happy. And complaining about it got old and boring.
This rich guy that owned things, including the company I worked for, said: "you're either working on your own dream or working on someone else's dream." (something like that) I think that was to inspire us to work for him – or something? Not sure, but I remember thinking, "fuck this"
Anyway, I'm working on my own dream, not his anymore. I wish that for anyone who wants that for their life. The funny thing is, I love Mondays now. I love every day. Life is too fucking short to hate every day. Only living for the weekends. This poem is like a war cry for anyone who wants something more...whatever that may be. While I was still working the 9–5, I used it to to get through the day, and even now, I use it when encouragement is required.

"The Laughing Heart", by Charles Bukowski
your life is your life don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission. be on the watch. there are ways out.
there is a light somewhere. it may not be much light but it beats the darkness. be on the watch. the gods will offer you chances. know them. take them. you can’t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes. and the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. your life is your life. know it while you have it. you are marvelous the gods wait to delight in you.
